Finding the Perfect Fit
Finding the perfect space can be a challenge for almost
anyone, but with the right broker it is more than possible. Jason Helmick,
Senior Vice President at Lee & Associates-Irvine, has been in the
commercial real estate industry for nearly ten years. His journey finding
clients the perfect space for their business has been adventurous to say the
least.
Ted Baker and KC Holiday were looking for a way to
show their commitment on and off the court. On their website they state, “From
the gym to the ocean and the court to the course, a more functional wedding
band was in high demand.” The two got together and created QALO (Quality.
Athletics. Love. Outdoors). QALO is a wedding ring made out of medical grade
silicone that is functional and practical for all active lifestyles.
As QALO started to grow in demand, Baker and Holiday needed
to expand. They found Helmick through a mutual friend and asked him to help
find them their dream space in Orange County. QALO’s goal was to find a space
that had culture and character while being in a suitable geographical location.
The main challenge Helmick faced was finding available property in a market
with dwindling vacancy. He worked diligently to uncover all possible locations
that fit the company’ timeline and requirement list. The deal was sealed when
Helmick presented a 30,000 SF location in Santa Ana that he felt would serve
QALO well.
The company happily closed escrow on the property in February of
2016. Reflecting on the year-long deal, Helmick says, “They are so great to work with.
Not only did I want to do a good job in finding them the right spot, but they
have truly become friends who continue to make my job fun.”
